Who we are
About the foundation.
A community foundation for policing in Bridgeton, New Jersey, and the Cumberland County area around it.
What it is
The Bridgeton Blue & Gold Foundation is a new nonprofit being organized by people in this community. Its job is to raise support for policing where the city budget stops: equipment, training, youth and neighborhood programs, and help for officers and their families.
The foundation answers to its board and to the public record it will keep. It does not run the police department, hire officers, or direct police work.
Mission
Raise community support for policing in Bridgeton and the surrounding Cumberland County area, and spend it on equipment, training, community programs, and care for officers and families.
Where
Bridgeton comes first. The surrounding Cumberland County communities tied to that work are part of the same map. The foundation’s mailing home is Bridgeton, New Jersey 08302. A street address will be published when there is a public office or a post box.
What support is meant to cover
- Equipment and supplies the municipal budget does not carry
- Training beyond the department’s own training line
- Youth programs and other time that officers and neighbors spend together
- Help for officers and families after injury, loss, or hardship
Each of these opens when the board can fund it. Until then, they are the plan, not a list of finished grants.
How decisions will be made
Requests will come in through the grant application, or through a private note when a family needs help. The board will review them, decide, and keep a record. An annual summary of money received and money spent will be posted on this page after the foundation has a year to report.
Families should not put private details in a public form. Until a private path is published, write info@bridgetonblueandgoldfoundation.org and put “family” in the subject.
Independence
The foundation is independent of the Bridgeton Police Department and the City of Bridgeton. Emergencies belong on 911. Police reports, tips, and records requests belong with the department, at (856) 451-0033 or on the department’s website.
The foundation is not a political committee. A gift does not buy an endorsement, a favor, or special treatment.
Tax status
Charitable registration and any federal tax-exempt determination will be published here when they are final. Until that notice is on this page, do not assume a gift is tax-deductible.
